Four months after Diego’s death, the Denver Police announced that an arrest had been made in the case and that they were holding an unidentified juvenile male in connection with the death of Diego. The arrest was a direct result of an anonymous tip from Metro Denver Crime Stoppers.

Throughout the course of the investigation, it was determined that the juvenile suspect in custody had an accomplice and now detectives are seeking the public’s help in identifying a second suspect in this case.

“When there is an arrest in a case it doesn’t mean that it is solved or closed,” said Danney Goracke, Metro Denver Crime Stoppers Board Member. “We want to make sure that everyone who is involved in a case is brought to justice and I know that detectives, the family and MDCS wont rest until that is done.”

Denver Police Lieutenant Matt Clark said, “our detectives are working very diligently on this and there have been some very good Crime Stoppers tips and we are hopeful the increased reward motivates others to come forward who have information.”

The additional reward monies have been made possible thanks to Diego’s family and a generous anonymous donation.

Diego’s father, Jose Marquez, said, “I’m just wanting to get justice for my son and get those individuals off the streets. You’d be doing the right thing, giving that information you have. I know someone knows a lot of things.”
